Up for grabs is a pair of EV Electrovoice midrange horns Model HD8 with T25A drivers. I got these and the crossovers at an estate sale last weekend knowing someone would want them. I am an audiophile, so I have Plenty of stuff already, just ask the wife. I did ohm out both coils and each reads 5.5 Ohms, a very positive sign. They do show some wear from age and handling...scratches mainly. The horns are not cracked or bent. I know on the T25A's is says 800cps, so I assume that is where to crossover to the woofer for safety reasons. All 4 of the push terminals for the speaker wire are fine with thier red and black caps. The Crossovers I know little about. I believe the small ones are X36 and are 8 ohm, and the one big one is 16ohm from my research. The big one does not have a label. I am not sure about the internal wiring to test these, so if you are intersted and can tell me which terminals to look at I will forward the results. The speakers are fairly heavy. Packed with the crossovers your looking at 20-25lbs. I am working ALOT of hours right now but will ship within a few days after payment received....promise. These are sold AS-IS. The coils appear so they probably are. I won't accept returns on these. I will ship these to the lower 48 states and NO overseas shipping on these. send me your questions! DavidOn Mar-06-12 at 19:49:11 PST, seller added the following information: I made a typing error. Darn netbook. I said the coils appear to be fine, so the drivers are probably fine. The 2nd bid I got is from Hong Kong.....go figure. If an overseas buyer wants these I will ship them to them, but shipping delay might be just a little longer to get the customs forms filled out, etc..I am working 13 of every 14 days right now.And obviously, the flat $25 shipping fee would be modified should they sell to outside the lower 48 states USA.On Mar-07-12 at 07:52:41 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention, I also got four original L-pad- volume controls. They are the dual type, single shaft with the control nuts and lock washers. The number on them is 56012 and 235539. Looks like a capitol M with a line through it symbol on them as well. These are included in the auction. They feel like wire wound type when turning them. I assume these were removed when someone I guess gutted the speaker cabinets. On Mar-11-12 at 18:42:54 PDT, seller added the following information: OK. Tonight I fed a music signal to each of the compression drivers in this auction from a small stereo amp here. I didn't want to hook them to my big tube monos here! They BOTH WORK PERFECTLY. I know what bad drivers sound like being an audio/video engineer for 35 years and a Extra Class ham, etc. These were used, yes, and have scratches but work and sound fine and seem to Quite efficient! Also the EV emblems are on both horns inside front and the silver EV decals are on both driver backs as well. Ask me any questions via email.
